Financial Management: Smart Planning & Introduction to Securities Market
On October 14, 2024, the College of Engineering and Rural Technology (CERT Meerut) organized an enlightening program on financial planning, featuring Ms. Archana Sharma, a Securities Markets Trainer and Resource Person from SEBI. The session aimed to provide students with a foundational understanding of financial planning, covering key concepts such as inflation, saving, investment strategies, and fund allocation.
Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, students gained valuable insights into safe and effective investment practices in the securities markets. Ms. Sharma emphasized the importance of understanding financial products, with a special focus on mutual funds and their benefits, showcasing how these tools can help achieve long-term financial goals.
A significant portion of the program was dedicated to addressing financial fraud and the importance of conducting due diligence before making investment decisions. Ms. Sharma underscored that investing in securities markets—whether in the primary or secondary market—is a calculated strategy, not a gamble. By making informed choices, students were encouraged to view investments as a pathway to financial freedom.
“The session also included interactive games designed to promote awareness about investment habits, creating a lively atmosphere where students actively shared their experiences and perspectives on financial management.”
The session was highly appreciated by the participants, who walked away with actionable knowledge to apply in their personal financial journeys. This event exemplifies CERT Meerut's dedication to fostering financial literacy and preparing students to make informed, confident decisions in an increasingly complex economic landscape.
